Culture Corner/Ori Gersht/Imperial War Museum

Each month LPA will be running a new feature on the blog called Culture Corner. Here we will highlight an exhibition, talk, book, event or anything else we think you might find interesting in the visual arts world. For this months blog post we would like to showcase the exhibition 'This Storm is what we call progress', a photographic exhibition by Ori Gersht at the Imperial War Museum in association with Photoworks.

The exhibition runs until 29th April and is a combination of beautiful, delicate photographic prints and two slow paced short films that deal with the difficult subject of war and suffering. Gersht's work, which often draws on complex themes of history, conflict and place is often presented in this form of seductive, awe inspiring imagery that tells a darker story than it's alluring surface.
