LPA Moving Image / Nick David / Identity / Vola
Nick David has been working with filmmaker Jack Flynn again recently, this time the pair were commissioned by branding agency Identity to create six short films for Danish tap manufacturer Vola. Vola were keen to mark the 50th anniversary since Arne Jacobsen collaborated with the owner of Vola to create the original tap design. The design he imagined was one were all the mechanical parts of the mixer are hidden, and only the handles and spout are exposed, a new concept at the time. Nick and Jack where commissioned to create six short films celebrating Vola's unique and timeless design.
Each film explores a different aspect of company, from form and function, to recycling and the people who make help make this Danish company so iconic. The pair, along with a team from Identity, visited the Vola factory in Denmark, and also explored the coastal and inland areas of the this beautiful country. Here's a quote from the agency Identity on their thoughts about the shoot;
It has been a great experience working with Nick and Jack on the VOLA 50th Anniversary celebratory films. We had a very clear idea of what we were hoping to achieve - so we were delighted to find a duo that were able to work with us in a really inspiring and collaborative way to ensure we captured the footage required. We were travelling for quite a large section of the shoot in Denmark and a big positive point for us is that we were able to keep the production team small and manageable. Jack and Nick make a great team and have produced 7 films that we are delighted with. - Identity
Nick also captured some stills along the way in his own signature style, we also love this behind the scenes image of Nick, Jack and Lisa Roser the art director in their shoot vehicle.
Amazing work!
