Jon Tonks/The Empire Project

Jon Tonks (LPA/Futures '09') has recently completed the penultimate chapter of his project photographing the outposts of the once formidable British Empire. Tristan Da Cunha, is an archipelago lying 1,750 miles at sea from Cape Town and is the remotest inhabited place on earth. The journey to the island takes seven days at sea, after which you are greeted by a population of just 264 people, including one policeman. For more information please visit www.jontonks.co.uk
