Alice Timms-Styling for Julia Fullerton Batten

"These shots were taken in an amazing old grand house in Somerset, originally for the Hasselblad Awards Book. The girls who modeled were all either street dancers or capoeira trained so were able to get the interesting body shapes required for the images, and mostly didn't even need the crash mats provided! The wardrobe was a challenge as we needed it to not only look good visually, but all outfits needed to allow the models to move fluidly in front of the camera and be comfortable whilst jumping. We shot a number of variations including filling the stairway with dried leaves as if the model had been blown over in a gust of wind from outside, but Julia chose the simpler ideas for the series. This was a really long day with a very early start and late finish, but the shots were well worth it indeed!"
