It’s not everyday you get to spend time with a professional boxer…

Andy Smith has been working on his new activewear portfolio (see snippets here!), which inspired this insight into the world of professional boxer Joké Amechi. After contacting him on instagram, Andy went along to a training session to photograph and gain a little insight into his world.

Neither realised how much the project would grow and after learning about the reality of Joké, a victim of a stabbing, he was keen to follow and share his story to his professional boxing debut this April, 2022.

Between lockdowns and busy schedules and with the very generous help of Joké’s trainers/team, Andy managed to capture this rather raw series.
