PAUL CRAIG / REGATTA SEA SWIM

Nothing screams great British seaside like fish & chips, seagulls and…grey skies. We’re kicking it back to summer (miss you) with Paul Craig and his ongoing wild swimming project.

I drove up to Whitby at the weekend to photograph the Regatta Sea Swim. Unfortunately a 'sea fret' (Id never heard this term before!) moved in and the race had to be cancelled for safety reasons. These shots show the laughter and tears among the group as the decision to cancel was made. I love this part of the coast and was blown away by the community spirit among the group so I look forward to returning in 23 when hopefully we all have more luck! Huge thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome and the lovely people at @whitby_wild_swimmers for organising it all!
