In honour of International Women’s Day, which is today, food and drink extraordinaire Frankie Turner captured these delicious images.

Frankie came up with the idea and slogan and then collaborated with food stylist and fellow female freelancer Lucy-Ruth who expertly pipped the cake.

International Women's Day, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Each year has a different theme for the IWD and this years theme is 'Choose To Challenge'. As the IWD website explains ‘a challenged world is an alert world. And from challenge comes change.’

Frankie’s slogan cake perfectly matches with this theme, by both being a rallying call for women to be better represented in decision making roles, such as Government and CEO positions, (which woman are still unrepresented in), and also by poking fun at what was once seen as the women’s role as the housewife ‘in the kitchen’ through a big squidgy cake.
