LPA Library / Alex Ingram
Since launching the LPA Library in May, we have been busy expanding the library with lots of new images by both LPA photographers, and also photographers we do not represent. This week we have added two new projects by Alex Ingram to the library, ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Salt Water.’
Alex captured ‘Inside Out’ while on lockdown in Pembrokeshire at his parents house. The idea came from walking around his parents town, St Davids, and chatting to people through their windows in order to keep socially distanced. Thinking it was an odd way of having to interact with people, Alex was keen to document it through this series of portraits.
Although everyone was staying at home, Alex was keen for the images to not feel melancholic or sad. Each portrait was taken while social distancing, so through windows or open doors at a safe distance, but also with a real sense of human connection.
The second project, ‘Salt Water’, Alex captured on the beach in Pembrokeshire, enlisting the help of a group of surfers he knows from the area.
Keen to not make the images feel too stage, Alex followed the group on a normal day, without giving them too much direction, and captured images of them while they surfed together and sat together on the beach afterwards.
Beautiful work! Both projects are now available through the LPA / Library!
