We are delighted to show you an exciting production we worked on recently with American agency SRG, for their client Glanbia PLC. LPA photographer River Thompson was recently commissioned to shoot for Glanbia, a global nutrition group, for one of their grass fed dairy products in Ireland. It was a comprehensive brief involving stills, moving image and drone filming.

The shoot was to take place on a dairy farm in Ireland, situated close to the coast, so we had to keep a close eye on the weather during pre-production. As the shoot was to take place outside and we were required to capture a significant amount of drone footage, we had to be mindful of wind speeds and rain getting in the way! We kept our DOP Chris Dodds and drone operators Cloud Visual penciled with weather days so that we could make the most of the good weather and get everybody over to Ireland last minute if needs be. The guys at Cloud Visual have all the necessary insurance and legal permissions for drone filming, but luckily we were shooting on private land so permission was granted by the farmers involved anyway.

Both production and crew had to be very responsive throughout the shoot, not only due to unpredictable weather but due to the nature of shooting livestock. River, Chris and Will (Cloud Visual) had to respond quickly in order to capture all the shots and footage needed and work in conjunction with one another.

The three day shoot predictably saw wind, rain and sunshine but the team managed to overcome the elements and challenges involved in shooting on a working farm to deliver a beautiful batch of images and short videos.
