LPA Photographers / River Thompson / Lonely Planet / Sweden
Since winning LPA Futures in 2017 River Thompson has been non-stop shooting in exotic places and now that he has permanent LPA photographers roster nothing has changed! Most recently he has been shooting in Sweden for a cover story for next month’s Lonely Planet, their ‘Greatest Outdoors Issue’.
The story was about Småland in Sweden, discovering the lakes, forests and wetlands in the footsteps of John Bauer - a famous Swedish artist from the late 1800’s.
River and the team stayed in floating cabins on lakes, remote huts on islands only accessible by canoe, rode horses through the wild forests and ate more crayfish than they could dream of. River says it was such a beautiful place for a shoot with so many things to capture that he was shooting continuously for the whole six days!
The cover shot was taken at sunrise on lake Klockesjön and you can see it and the whole story in next month’s Lonely Planet magazine, “The Greatest Outdoors” issue. Click here to buy your copy!
