LPA Futures / Andy Pilsbury / Stories from the Jewellery Quarter / Exhibition

LPA Futures winner Andy Pilsbury has been working with the Jewellery Quarter Townscape heritage project for some time, exploring the past and present experiences of those who spend their lives working in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.

Andy has been capturing portraits of both current and past employees in their secluded workshops along with documenting the spaces and environment.

Andy’s images are now been shown in a new exhibition entitled ‘Still: Stories from the Jewellery Quarter’, which will also feature works by Janine Wiedel and Inès Elsa Dalal as well as recordings of oral history interviewers carried out by the JQ Townscape Heritage Project.

Focusing on an area which is experiencing intense change, the exhibition provides the opportunity to consider and reflect on the lives and memories of some of those who have helped give the iconic Jewellery Quarter its unique character.

The exhibition is on from the 26th October to the 10th November 2019 at the Iron House in Birmingham and there will be a special panel discussion with Andy and Janine discussing their work on the 30th October. Click here to find out more.

Beautiful work Andy!
